  • Performing an eclectic program with works by Honstein, Albright, Marques-Barrios, and David Adams. Starting with “a beer-cloud maze of smooth tunes and toe-tapping dance rhythms”, the composers adapt, distort, or imitate raucous celebrations, groovy funkiness, and even a marching parade on the Venezuelan Caribbean coast.

  • We look back on our American musical heritage in honor of Veterans Day. Focusing on American classics, jazz standards, and patriotic tunes, presented by Powers Music School, JPSQ will perform a morning of memorable favorites old and new at the Lynnfield Senior Center (8:30).

September 13, 2019, 8pm • JPSQ @ MIT

  • Join us for our 2019-20 season opener and MIT debut, where we perform works by dear friends (and family)! As part of the JPSQAfterDark series that explores the contemporary classical side of our performing lives, we explore 21st century works that tie us to Boston through our personal and aesthetic relationships. These contemporary works will be interspersed with our tonal heritage through movements of Sciarrino’s Pagine (1998). More Info here.

  • Presented by Powers Music School, JP Sax Quartet performs jazz and pop tunes from 11:30-12:00pm at 380 Concord Ave as a part of Belmont Porchfest.

  • The Jamaica Plain Saxophone Quartet performs in JP PorchFest. 4-6pm at 112 Rockview St.

April 15, 2019 • Pagine at NEC

  • We will perform selections from Salvatore Sciarrino’s Pagine on our own Scott Chamberlin’s DMA recital, located in New England Conservatory’s Burnes Hall. More Info.

  • JPSQ is the featured quartet for the Megalopolis Saxophone Orchestra concert at the Boston Latvian Church in Brookline, where we will perform Jacob Wall’s prize-winning quartet, Tachygenesis More Info.

November 30, 2018 • JPSQ Holiday Concert @ Waltham COA

  • Join us at 1:00pm for an afternoon of holiday favorites, along with jazz standards and some of America’s best known pop tunes. The Jamaica Plain Saxophone Quartet, presented by Powers Music School, will celebrate the season with you with selections from The Nutcracker, Charlie Brown Christmas, and new takes on old classics.
